Thai fashion designer Rungrot Chankrachang regularly takes delivery of thousands of discarded reusable shopping bags and, like intrepid travellers, these bags have a story to tell — a story that apparently only he can hear. Made somewhere in Europe, with the aim of saving the blue planet from plastic waste, these reusable bags ironically become trash themselves, either because they have been replaced or their place of origin, say Germany, where they are transported to poorer countries as a charity offering or simply to be disposed of. Armed with sewing machines, a team of tailors and bucket-loads of creativity, Rungrot cuts these discarded, dull-looking bags into small pieces and stitches them together to create a unique patchwork of colours, which is then used to create a stunning piece of haute couture. We go for reusable shopping bags to cut down on plastic waste, it makes us proud and gives us a pleasant sense of sustainability on our trip to the grocery stores. Irony and a touch of humour are the tools Rungrot uses to make his patchwork shirts, trousers, dresses and even jackets. The effects on marine creatures is devastating, as they become irrevocably entangled in plastic netting or mistake the waste for food, with the result that minute pieces of plastic often find their way to our dinner plates. Phakawat Suwan, winner of a recent contest organised byEcoalf, created a 3 in 1 cushion made of the fabric recycled from the bottom of the ocean. The contest was held in collaboration with Spanish fashion brand Ecoalf. Founded by Javier Goyeneche in , it uses breakthrough technology to create clothing and accessories made entirely from recycled materials, much of it fished out from the sea. Produced under the UTO Upcycling the Oceans Thailand brand, the pillow has been designed to ensure that every square inch of the recycled fabric — made from plastic bottles — is meaningful. Practical and portable, users can unzip it to remove the folded blanket inside. Created by Flying Squirrel Outfitters and NoNo Bags, it is shaped like a bottle hinting at giving new life to the plastic bottles we unthinkingly throw away. While plastic has changed the world, improving and adding convenience to modern lives, its very durability is proving a major problem. This is particularly true of single-use plastic — among it the millions of disposable plates, bowls, cutlery and bottles that end up in the trash everyday.
Some mormon girls are closeted freaks as someone here has already said. Not to mention, he became angry and hostile towards me during the break up. One thing that has helped my husband and I was a marriage class we joke that it was more like marriage therapy when we had only been married two years. Imagine if I had a panic attack every day at 10am?!. It CAN work, to be frank.
